Qualifications:

• Four year degree or an Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood or behavioral science field
• Experience in working with families and young children
• Knowledge of early childhood preferred
• Be able to communicate effectively with families, school staff and collaborative partners
• Sensitive to the diverse needs of the community
• Willing to involve parents as co-partners in the educational process
• Flexible in scheduling work hours
• Speaks Spanish and English fluently

Responsibilities:

• Plans and conducts parent groups and activities for young children and their parents
• Provides home visits to families
• Assists families in locating needed resources in the community
• Participates in training opportunities and staff meetings
• Promotes parent participation and involvement in educational activities provided for their children
• Participates in family recruitment strategies
• Assists in programmatic planning and evaluation as needed
• Translates written materials
• Interprets for individuals for whom English is a second language
