Qualifications:
- Four year degree or an Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood or behavioral science field
- Experience in working with families and young children
- Knowledge of early childhood preferred
- Be able to communicate effectively with families, school staff and collaborative partners
- Sensitive to the diverse needs of the community
- Willing to involve parents as co-partners in the educational process
- Flexible in scheduling work hours
- Speaks Spanish and English fluently
Responsibilities:
- Plans and conducts parent groups and activities for young children and their parents
- Provides home visits to families
- Assists families in locating needed resources in the community
- Participates in training opportunities and staff meetings
- Promotes parent participation and involvement in educational activities provided for their children
- Participates in family recruitment strategies
- Assists in programmatic planning and evaluation as needed
- Translates written materials
- Interprets for individuals for whom English is a second language
