Performance Responsibilities
- Work with students with disabilities toward employment goals:
- Administer inventories to identify potential employment goals
- Matching students’ interests, strengths and needs to work opportunities
- Supervising students on academic and vocational tasks at either school or work sites at the level needed to achieve mastery and independence;
- Assist students with disabilities in establishing an account in SC Works Online Services and/or SCOIS (SC Career Information System), to research in-demand jobs and local labor market information.
- Coordinate/facilitate communication between the employer, school, parents, and student regarding job placement and performance. Attend IEP meetings to report about student’s job performance.
- Conduct discovery and assessment activities to identify career pathways
- Utilize occupational videos and real images
- Assist in managing student behavior; implement behavior intervention plans; reinforce appropriate job site behaviors;
- Collect and maintain data while monitoring student progress
- Other duties as assigned, including collaborating with other transition teachers and job coaches.
- Performs other related duties, as assigned, to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
Terms of Employment:
Part-time….not to exceed 29 hours per week.
Evaluation:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Support Service Personnel.
