Food Service General Worker (Part-Time)

                                                         JOB DESCRIPTION

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

1. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

2. Clean and neat appearance.

3. Able to accept direction well.

4. Able to run cash register if applicable to position

5. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate

and acceptable.

 

REPORTS TO:  Cafeteria Manager

 

JOB GOAL:

 

To serve the students attractive and nutritious meals in an atmosphere of efficiency,

cleanliness, and friendliness.

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

1. Assists in the preparation of food portions and prepares cafeteria counter.

2. Serves students and staff from the cafeteria counter.

3. Removes used dishes and assists in the cleaning of counters, tables, and

furnishings in the dining area.

4. Maintains the trash and garbage collection area in a neat and sanitary fashion.

5. Perform skills necessary to run cash register if applicable.

6. Performs related duties as required including duties at special meal functions as

directed by the cafeteria manager.

 

SPECIFIC JOB REQUIREMENTS:

 

1. Must possess manual dexterity to shred, chop, assemble, and mix foods.

2. Must possess stamina to stand and walk on hard flooring for long periods of

time.

3. Must possess ability to withstand a wide range of temperatures.

4. Must possess ability to work with chemical agents.

5. Must possess strength to lift and carry food items or objects weighing up to fifty

pounds.

6. Must communicate effectively with customers.

7. Must possess excellent team building skills.

8. Must accept delegated responsibilities willingly.

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

 

Until the end of the school year. Salary to be established by the Board.

 

EVALUATION:

 

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Support Services Personnel.
