Performance Responsibilities


  • Work with students with disabilities toward employment goals:
    • Administer inventories to identify potential employment goals
    • Matching students’ interests, strengths and needs to work opportunities
    • Supervising students on academic and vocational tasks at either school or work sites at the level needed to achieve mastery and independence;
    • Assist students with disabilities in establishing an account in SC Works Online Services and/or SCOIS (SC Career Information System), to research in-demand jobs and local labor market information.
    • Coordinate/facilitate communication between the employer, school, parents, and student regarding job placement and performance. Attend IEP meetings to report about student’s job performance.
  • Conduct discovery and assessment activities to identify career pathways
  • Utilize occupational videos and real images
  • Assist in managing student behavior; implement behavior intervention plans; reinforce appropriate job site behaviors;
  • Collect and maintain data while monitoring student progress
  • Other duties as assigned, including collaborating with other transition teachers and job coaches.
  • Performs other related duties, as assigned, to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.


Terms of Employment: 

Part-time….not to exceed 29 hours per week.




Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Support Service Personnel.
