ASSISTANT TRACK COACH (Throwers)
Qualifications:
- High school diploma
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Prior work with children preferred
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable
Reports To: High School Athletic Director and Head Track Coach
Job Overview: The Throwers Coach is responsible for developing and implementing training programs for athletes specializing in throwing events, including shot put and discus. This role involves coaching athletes to improve their technical skills, strength, and overall performance, while fostering a positive and competitive team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute individualized training plans for throwers, focusing on technique, strength, and conditioning.
- Analyze athletes' performance and make necessary adjustments to training and technique.
- Conduct regular practice sessions and drills to enhance throwing skills.
- Monitor and assess athletes' progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Ensure athletes are prepared for competitions by managing pre-competition routines and strategies.
- Collaborate with other coaches and sports staff to align training with overall team goals.
- Educate athletes on injury prevention and proper use of equipment.
